1. What the Tool Does

PaperFit is a browser-based document toolkit that includes margin and paper size adjustment, PDF merging and splitting, page removal, compression, rotation, cropping, organizing, watermarking, page numbering, password protection, flattening, PDF and image conversion, privacy scanning for supported document types, cloud import and cloud save (Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, where configured), and Pro features such as batch processing, OCR, permanent redaction, tool chains, and saved presets. Cloud import and cloud save are available today to any signed-in user. The Pro features listed above are currently switched off in the shipped app and are not reachable today; the terms covering them apply once they are enabled.

Document processing happens locally in your browser. PaperFit operates no server endpoint that accepts a document, so your file contents are not uploaded to us. Optional cloud import and cloud save — Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, where configured — move files directly between your browser and the cloud account you connect. Cloud import accepts PDFs, images, Word .docx files, and Markdown or plain-text files, depending on the tool.

2. No Warranty

This tool is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The output will match your printer's exact behavior.
• All PDF types will be processed without issues.
• The application will be available without interruption.
• Privacy scan results will identify every legal, security, or compliance issue in a file.
• Redaction will remove every trace of sensitive information from a file. See section 10a.
• Locally stored copies of your work will survive browser or device data loss.

3. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Reviewing the preview before printing or downloading.
• Keeping your original files. We recommend always keeping a copy of your original PDF.
• Verifying the output meets your needs before committing to a print run.

4. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this tool, including but not limited to wasted paper, ink, or print materials.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of any files you process using this tool. We claim no rights to your content, and we do not access or store the contents of your documents. If you save a file to a connected cloud account while signed in as a Pro subscriber, PaperFit stores a metadata record — including the filename — so the app can show you where the file went; the Privacy Policy describes that record and how to delete it.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use this tool to process documents that you do not have the right to modify or distribute. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have appropriate permissions for the files you open in PaperFit, including any file you import from a connected cloud account.

7. Quality Considerations

When scaling content between significantly different paper sizes (e.g. A4 to A0), image-based or scanned PDF content may lose quality. The application will display warnings when this is detected, but the final quality assessment is your responsibility.

8. PaperFit Pro

Pro features are available via paid subscription or founder early-access tokens. Pricing is as displayed on the /pro page at the time of purchase.

Founder pricing ($2.99/mo) is locked for the duration of the subscription for users who subscribe during the founder period. This rate will not increase as long as the subscription remains active.

9. Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with PaperFit Pro, contact support@paperfit.app within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. No questions asked.

10. Client-Side Processing Disclaimer

PaperFit tools process files entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Results depend on your device's capabilities (CPU, RAM, browser version). Very large files or complex operations may be slow on older hardware.

PaperFit does not guarantee output fidelity — always verify results before sharing or distributing processed files.

10a. Redaction — Read This Before Relying On It

PaperFit's permanent redaction works by converting each affected page to an image, painting the areas you selected, and rebuilding the page from those pixels — so the original text bytes under a redaction box are discarded rather than merely covered. This is a deliberately stronger approach than drawing a black rectangle over live text.

It is still your responsibility to verify the result, and PaperFit makes no warranty that a redacted file is safe to disclose. In particular: redaction only removes what you selected, so anything you miss remains; sensitive information can survive elsewhere in a file, including in metadata, attachments, annotations, form fields, or content outside the visible page area; and rasterizing pages changes the file's appearance and searchability.

Do not use PaperFit as your sole safeguard for court filings, regulatory disclosures, or any release where disclosure would cause harm. Open the output and confirm the redacted content is gone — by searching, selecting, and inspecting the file — before you release it. You accept the risk of relying on the output.

11. Accounts & Cloud Storage

PaperFit's local tools work without an account. Optional accounts — via email + password, a one-time email sign-in link, or Google sign-in — enable cloud features and, later, Pro. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from your Account page; we may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms. Deleting your account removes your PaperFit-side records but does not delete data stored in your own browser or files already saved to your own cloud account — the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what deletion covers.

Files you store locally in My Files live in your browser's storage on the device you used. Browser storage is not a backup: clearing site data, using private browsing, browser eviction under storage pressure, or losing the device will lose those files. Temporary copies are additionally deleted automatically on the retention timer you choose. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Connecting Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive is likewise optional, and where configured they work the same way: files transfer directly between your browser and that provider, and you revoke access from that provider's own connected-apps settings.

Connecting Google Drive is optional and uses the least-privilege drive.file scope: PaperFit can access only files it creates or that you explicitly open through the Google Picker — never the rest of your Drive. Files transfer directly between your browser and Google and are not stored on PaperFit's servers. You may revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions. PaperFit's use of Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

12. Third-Party Services

PaperFit uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — accounts, authentication, and profile storage
• Google — sign-in identity and, if you connect it, Google Drive access
• Stripe — for payment processing
• WaitlistWiz — for waitlist management
• Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics
• Sentry — for error monitoring
• Dropbox — optional file import and save, if you connect it
• Microsoft OneDrive — optional file import and save, if you connect it
• Tesseract.js CDNs — for the OCR engine and language models
• Google Fonts — web fonts used by some pages
• Vercel — hosting

Each service's own privacy policy and terms of service apply to data processed by that service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Local Data Controls

PaperFit provides in-app controls to clear selected locally stored data from your browser. You are responsible for choosing which categories to remove, including session drafts, export history, preferences, theme, and analytics consent.
