FAQ
- Does the Margins tool reduce the number of pages?
- Not directly. It adjusts margins, paper size, and layout — it doesn't combine or reflow content. The only way pages are removed is through blank page detection.
- What about scanned PDFs?
- They work, but since the content is image-based, margins are adjusted by cropping and re-centering. You'll see a warning banner when a scanned PDF is detected.
- Will image quality be affected?
- Text and vector graphics scale perfectly at any size. Image-based content (photos, scans) may lose sharpness when scaled significantly. The app warns you when this may happen.
- Is my file safe?
- Completely. Everything runs in your browser. Your files are never sent over the internet. Close the tab and they're gone.
- Can I clear saved data without losing preferences?
- Yes. In Preferences, use the Privacy Controls checklist and clear only the categories you want. Preferences and analytics consent remain unless you explicitly select them.
- What browsers work best?
- Chrome and Edge provide the best experience. Firefox works well too. Safari has some quirks with download and print dialogs.
- Is there a file size limit?
- For the Margins tool: 50 MB maximum, and documents over 300 pages will show a confirmation prompt. Other tools handle standard file sizes without issues.
- Can I merge different page sizes?
- Yes! The Merge tool preserves each page's original size. The result may have mixed page dimensions.
- How do I report a bug or ask for help?
- Email support@paperfit.app with the tool name, browser, device, and the exact error message if you have one.
