How to crop a PDF

Is it private?

Yes. Unlike most “crop PDF online” tools, PaperFit never uploads your file to our servers — the crop happens on your own device using your browser. That matters when the pages you’re trimming are scanned IDs, signed contracts, or financial statements: they simply stay with you. You can confirm it: open your browser’s network tab and watch — your file is never uploaded to our servers while you crop.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping runs 100% in your browser. Your PDF is never sent to our servers, so there is nothing for us to see, store, or leak.

Does cropping delete the content outside the box?

Cropping sets the page’s crop box, which hides everything outside it rather than re-rendering the page — so text stays sharp and selectable. If you need to permanently strip the hidden content, run the result through the Flatten tool.

Can I crop every page at once, or just one?

Both. Set the crop box and choose to apply it to the current page or to all pages — handy when a whole scan has the same margins.

What does auto-detect content do?

It finds the edges of the actual content on the page and snaps the crop box to them, trimming the surrounding white space for you. You can still nudge the handles afterward.

Is there a file size limit?

You can crop PDFs up to 200 MB. Because everything runs locally, very large files depend on your device’s available memory.

Is it free, and does it work on mobile?

Yes to both — no account, no install, and no watermark. It runs in mobile browsers too, though very large files are limited by phone memory.
